in a grasshopper's words

Fallen Leaf

Where do we find light
under lowering skies,
filled with breaking clouds
and gusting winds?

We find it in the eyes of man
turned child, chasing away fear
with memories of fallen leaves.

We find it in the eyes of his child
chasing the first fallen leaf
away down the street
